Water restoration has never been this easy. You will pay
for these tools with your 1st job!
We recommend the 2 larger ones for truckmounts, and the smaller ones for portables and spotting.
Accepts 2″ and 1 1/2″ hoses.
The Spot Lifter extracts from the padding and the carpet backing for a thorough rinse.
Frequently Asked Questions:
How fast does the WATER CLAW extract water?
- “Sub-Surface” extraction is accomplished in the first 3 seconds after contact with wet carpet and pad. Where a portable is being used to extract through cut pile carpet, the small or medium-sized tool is recommended.
- Typical “Sub-Surface” extraction speed per tool size:
- Large = 1,000 square feet per hour
- Medium = 600 square feet per hour
How is the WATER CLAW constructed?
- This Deluxe version has a Vacuum Release.
- Spring loaded adjustable handle automatically breaks vacuum between the carpet and the tool for easier and faster flood extraction.
- Heavy-duty carrying pouch can be mounted on the wall of your van and shop.
- The top plate is made of 1/2″ thick clear acrylic for viewing extraction results and will not flex under weight and vacuum.
- The vacuum tube is made of Lexan for durability and will accept a 1″ hose cuff inside and 2″ hose cuff outside.
- The black bottom plate is impervious to water. Its color will lighten with use, but can be restored by applying W/D-40 to a cloth and wiping the black surface only.
- The adjustable, waist-high handle easily detaches from tool for storage.
What size WATER CLAW do I need?
- The large size WATER CLAW is intended for maximum extraction speed on jobs covering large areas and is typically preferred by more active restoration companies.
- The medium size WATER CLAW is the most popular tool for small to mid-size carpet cleaning companies, but is also needed by more active restoration companies when doing residential-style berber carpets.
- The small size WATER CLAW is used in confined areas such as closets, stairs, etc. It is also best for residential-style berber carpets where concentrated extraction may be required. This tool is also recommended where portable extractors are being used.
- When performing “Sub-Surface” extraction on larger urine decontamination jobs, the small-size WATER CLAW is generally the tool of choice.
How does the WATER CLAW work?
The purpose for standing on the tool is not to squash the
carpet and pad to release water, but simply to facilitate
a tight seal between the tool and the face fibers.
The water seal against the bottom plate causes a restriction
in airflow, which then maximizes existing suction capabilities
inside the WATER CLAW suction manifold. This increased
suction not only wants to replace its negative atmosphere
by drawing water into the vacuum chamber but because of the
several holes placed against the saturated surface, your
vacuum’s “sub-surface” flood lifting power is supercharged
in the same way lifting force is multiplied with a pulley
system.
How do I use the WATER CLAW?
This process is deceptively fast and easy.
- To initiate flood extraction where carpet is floating on standing water, place tool in the middle of the room to
draw out excess water only. (At this point NO NOT allow the tool to extract water from pad or face fibers.) - Water migration in pad is essentially stopped during the succeeding “Sub-Surface” extraction process as excess
water (source water) is drawn away as described above. Begin the “Sub-Surface” extraction process in one corner.
Then check pad to confirm extraction results and adjust to appropriate tool size as needed. (Larger tools are for
speed and smaller tools for concentrated suction as needed in cases of Berber, thick pad and/or carpet, or weaker
vacuums, etc.) - Once proper tool size is determined, a rhythm of moving the tool can be quickly mastered by first standing on the
tool for 3-5 seconds for “Sub-Surface” extraction, then… - To reposition tool, drop one foot back off the tool, then lift slightly with the adjustable waist-height handle, pushing the tool forward with your other foot still in position on the tool. Then replace the tool on the carpet while bringing your other foot back onto the tool. (Overlapping is not recommended.) The total elapsed time from one placement to the next, including extraction time, will
typically take 5-7 seconds.
What will the Water Claw “Sub-Surface” Flood Extractor NOT do?
- Cannot be used as a follow-up process to conventional carpet cleaning to reduce drying time of face fibers.
- Does not offer any advantage in water extraction where there is no pad under the carpet.
- Will not extract water from old-fashioned orange waffle pad.
- When performing “Sub-Surface” extraction on residential style high looped Berbers, a Portable extractor should only
by used in combination with the 7″x8″ WATER CLAW Spot Lifter, while the larger flood tools will require the vacuum power
of a typical truck-mount for this type of carpet.

If the video screen is not as large as you would like it to be, then while the video is playing go into “View” on the video
screen, select the “Zoom” button, select “Double Image”. If you have accidentally selected another player besided
“real player” then you may have trouble switching that choice. If this is the case, then after you download “real player”,
“real player” will ask you if you want “real player” to be your default player. If you answer yes to this then
when you come back to play this video it will work with “real player” automatically.
