Encapsulation Cleaning & the Orbot OP Machines

Over the past 10 years or so, encapsulation cleaning has become more popular. Evolving from your simple brush and vacuum to brush, transfer dirt, and vacuum.

Counter Rotating Machines (CRBs) that were more often used for encapsulation are now being preferred as agitation machines rather than for encapsulation.

Oscillating Pad (OP) machines have now become the preferred method for encapsulation. This is mostly due to their ability to transfer the dirt to the bonnet while cleaning.

For those of you not yet familiar with this method, you can read some of the benefits and watch the video of the machines made by Orbot.

Here are the top 5 reasons you should consider OP cleaning:
1. The oscillating movement of the machine cleans all the way around a fiber as it turns. Whereas, the standard low-speed floor machines (side by side) only clean one side.  Watch the video to see how they oscillate while turning.

2. The pad adds an extra level of cleaning. The dirt is transferred on the pad, rather than being moved around.

3. OP cleaning works the fastest of all methods. Especially compared to hot water extraction. When using the OP machine, you simply fill the tank with water and your pre-spray and walk behind the machine, there is no filling up and emptying tanks like hot water extraction.

4. Competitive advantage. When cleaning large commercial areas, the OP machines “chomp” up square feet the fastest. Often, one person can average 3000 square feet an hour. This makes it easier to bid and get bigger jobs.

5. Not just good on carpet. The OP machines work great on many other surfaces. Like tile and grout, cement, natural stone, wood, laminate, and many more.
