Jets.
Basically there are 2 types of jets, T-jets & V-jets,
T-jets (on left in picture) have no thread. They are encased in a holder that is removable, which has threads.
V-jets (on right in picture) have threads on them.
What do the #s on the jets mean?
If it says “1/4” on top, it means it is 1/4” thread.
If it says “VV” on top it is a V jet.
If it says “11002” below, that means the spraying angle is 110 degrees, and the opening of the hole is 02.
The bigger the last #(02 in this case), the bigger the opening.
.02 in the 11102 means 2 gallons per minute water flow at 40 psi.
But at 500 psi 11002 will put out .71 gallons per minute.
Numbers on the jets are always derived using 40 psi pressure.
Typically for carpet cleaning wands, manufactures put in jets that when the last 2 #s(02 in this case) are added together, they equal 06. This usually gives the right amount of heat and flushing ability.
You can decrease heat and increase flushing by getting jets which will add up to larger openings.
To increase heat and reduce flushing, you would do the opposite.
SS below means stainless steel. If it doesn’t say anything, then it is brass. The jets listed here are the most common jets used on wands, and tools like sprayers and hydroforces.
